Education
Preserving historic sites is essential to understanding Missouri’s heritage. MMP offers education enrichment programs to the community that detail history, art, culture, social studies and more.
Preservation and Restoration
Preserving one of Missouri’s most historical treasures is a community endeavor, as the home belongs to all Missourians. Every visitor who steps through its doors feels a sense of pride in the building and to its Missouri’s history. Missouri Mansion Preservation strives to meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
The Missouri Governor’s Mansion represents the fabric of our heritage. Our goal is to preserve and maintain its collections and historic treasures through conservation, maintenance and repair. The Mansion welcomes over 70,000 visitors annually, requiring on-going care and restoration. Unlike museums, where antiques are viewed, the furnishing collections featured at the Mansion are used to welcome visitors during tours and special events. They require on-going funds to protect and minimize deterioration.
