Tour the Governor’s Mansion:
Inside the walls of the Missouri Governor’s Mansion, guests will have the opportunity to step back in time and learn about our state’s history. The Missouri Governor’s Mansion is one of few executive residences in the United States open to the public. Free guided tours are given by our volunteer docents thanks to the support of the Friends of the Missouri Governor’s Mansion Docent Program. Once your tour has been confirmed, please read all information carefully to fully understand the Mansion guidelines.
Tour reservations are required for all visitors and must be made at least 72 hours in advance. It is recommended that you schedule some additional time in between your tours of the Missouri State Capitol and the Governor’s Mansion due to distance in-between the two sites.
Missouri Governor’s Mansion guided tours are provided at the beginning of spring into the early part of summer. We allow 20 people per group and tours are provided every 15 minutes. Please see our schedule below for more information. Tour reservations are required and must be confirmed before your visit at the Mansion. For security purposes, a photo ID and/or additional information may be needed are required and must be confirmed before your visit at the Mansion. For security purposes, a photo ID and/or additional information will be needed for guests 18 years or older before entering the Mansion grounds.
Please Note: Guests will not be able to enter the Mansion grounds with backpacks or purses of any kind unless for specified medical reasons. We ask that you leave all bags outside of the gates, on your bus, or in your vehicle. Failure to comply will result in the automatic cancellation of your tour reservation.
2026 Fall Tour Season:
The fall season will begin September 15, 2026 and run through October 29, 2026.
Tour days will be Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursday from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The Mansion is closed for tours in November and December to allow for Holiday event preparation. However, the public is invited to attend the annual Candlelight Tours of the People’s House on Friday, December 4th and Monday, December 7th.

It is recommended that you schedule some additional time in between your tours because of the distance between the Capitol and the Governor’s Mansion.
